Euromoney celebrated its 10th annual Euromoney Kuwait Conference on Tuesday 25 September. The conference took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait, a new venue to mark this special anniversary year. A record number of government officials, bankers, corporate treasurers, CEO’s and investors from 15 countries joined us this year.
The agenda gave an update on New Kuwait and in particular the financial sector’s response to the National Development Plan. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Finance, we were honoured to welcome H.E. Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf, Minister of Finance to the Euromoney stage this year followed by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General, Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA).
A stellar line-up of speakers discussed the sustainability of Kuwait’s macro-economic model and how Kuwait can expand revenues, consolidate and focus spending, finance capital expenditures and enhance the private sector’s role in the economy. This year will looked to the future of financial services with a special session on fintech and blockchain. The final session of the conference examined the deployment of private capital in Kuwait’s infrastructure - in vital sectors including transport and trade; energy; electricity and water.
We would like to thank all our sponsors, speakers and delegates, without whom the event would not be possible. We look forward to seeing you again in 2019.
