The Euromoney Covered Bond Network and Covered Bond Roadshow

Euromoney and GlobalCapital Events is proud to present the Virtual Covered Bond Roadshow, held in partnership with the ECBC.

Traditional means of communication and market interaction remain impossible for the time-being and therefore it has never been more important for our market to connect and engage, to ensure that the covered bond community continues to evolve and prosper, through this crisis and beyond.

Taking place between March and July, each month we will hold a high-level, live, interactive panel discussion, providing a platform for the global covered bond community to come together, to raise questions, share ideas and to debate the key issues and developments in our market. 

Each session in the Virtual Roadshow Series will focus on a different topic, focusing on various aspects of the future development of the covered bond market. Co-hosted by the ECBC, each sessions will feature leading market participants including issuers, investors, bankers, regulators and policymakers.

Session one:  Are we ready for July 2021? Challenges and opportunities in directive transposition

In the first session in our monthly Virtual Roadshow Series, we will focus on the implementation of the long-awaited Covered Bond Directive and discuss the implications of the legislation’s transposition for participants in the covered bond market. In this discussion, we will pose the key question: Are we ready for July 2021? We will explore the key challenges in the transposition of the directive and take a practical look at how these are being addressed by issuers. We will assess the level of standardisation versus areas of national discretion and the significance of this for issuers and investors alike and we will discuss what implications implementation might have on the relative value of the covered bond product.

The session will take place live and audience members will have the opportunity to share their views and put their questions directly to our speakers.
