The Euromoney/ECBC Yankee FIG Investor Webinar
Covered bonds – an essential in the bank funding toolkit?
Our Yankee FIG Investor event was due to take place in New York City in June this year, following previous successful instalments in Vancouver and Toronto. However, in light of the current global situation and widespread travel restrictions, in place of an in-person gathering, we are excited to bring you a live, and interactive experience, the Yankee FIG Investor Webinar.
This two-part, digital event will virtually bring together North American and global investors with US dollar issuers from international banks to examine the implications of the ongoing pandemic for the Yankee FIG market and the impact on issuance and other trends over the coming weeks and months.
We will take a special look at the impact on European banks, basis swap volumes, central bank liquidity lines and the dollar funding needs of the European banking system throughout the global crisis. Our speakers will also examine which funding products haven proven to be most resilient so far– with a special focus on the role of covered bonds.
The second part of the webinar will focus on Canadian banks, evaluating the government’s response and the economic impact of the crisis. We will explore changes to retail investor behaviour, consumer credit levels, Fintech adoption and popular attitudes towards the banking system in Canada. We will also discuss the regulatory and supervisory response by OSFI, and what these actions mean for bank creditors.
